Dorothy-Jane's story included in the No Laughing Matter podcast series

The story behind my songs on “The Witness” album is now published on the No Laughing Matter  Podcast Series, (Series 6, Episode 6 The Whistleblower). Also available on Spotify.

Writing the story required a radically different approach to writing the songs. Not only have ten years passed, but I have the benefit of hindsight and calmed emotions and can offer more detail and a refined perspective. I still believe that education and awareness are the only answers.

Massive thanks to the wonderful Comedian, Chris Ryan (pictured) for narrating my story and to Tanya Lee and her team at No Laughing Matter for facilitating the recording and for their dedication to raising awareness about Australia’s alarming statistics of incest.

In Australia, a substantial proportion of child sexual abuse occurs within the family. The scale of incest demands serious attention, yet it remains a taboo and often hidden topic.
