About Steve For many years an amateur with promise, Steve messed about playing folk, blues and just band music with friends and acquaintances until, sometime in his thirties, decided to take things a little more seriously. Steve has played in Blues and RnB (in the original sense) bands in Canberra since the early eighties. These bands have included Off the Wall, The Big Town Playboys, Backbeat Drivers, The Drivers, The Seventh Sons, The Blue Tone Specials and the duos “Wally & Eric” (with John van Buuren) and The Bluetones (with Matt Fitzgerald).
He plays the harmonica upside down and in fact cannot play it right side up! “Some people believe this accounts for my ‘individual’ style. Others aren’t so sure.”
Steve is an inaugural member of the Canberra Blues Society and the current President.
